Japanese boy group Arashi became the biggest winners in the 25th Japan Gold Disc Award held last night in Tokyo. They won a total of 6 awards including Artist of the Year which they won second year in a row and Album of the Year for Boku no Miteiru Fuukei.
Although they failed to get the Single of the Year award, the group managed to secure 2 spots for the Best Single category (for Troublemaker and Monster) alongside girl group AKB48. They also won Best Music Video for ARASHI Anniversary Tour 5×10.
I was able to watch NHK News last night while I was channel surfing and according to the news both Arashi and AKB48 were the reasons why Japan’s music industry is alive. Congratulations guys!
